Unfortunately, carpet is made from synthetic fibres and thus does not decompose quickly of sustainably. Consequently, it is one of the worst examples of waste materials to end up in landfill. As a result, at Aasvogel our mission is simple; to ensure the highest rates of carpet recycling possible.
Responsible Carpet Recycling
When we collect or receive any waste carpet material, first we thoroughly sort the carpet: This is a vital step in the recycling of any material as it allows us to completely separate it from other materials. Once fully sorted, the carpet is then baled by type, synthetic or traditional wool.
From here, all waste carpet is shredded and in the main, from our fully licenced recycling facility in Wantage, is sent to our recycling partners where the waste carpet is recycled into animal bedding and horse arena surfacing.
Future Conscious Carpet Recycling
At Aasvogel, we are continually reviewing our recycling processes to ensure we offer recycling methods that are as sustainable as possible.
By recycling all your unwanted carpet waste with Aasvogel, you remove the chances of it being filtered to landfill and harming the environment. By responsibly recycling you are also actively contributing to reducing carbon emissions and energy consumption.
